Banksy ( Bristol, 1974) è un artista e writer inglese, considerato uno dei maggiori esponenti della street art, la cui vera identità rimane ancora sconosciuta. Le sue opere sono spesso a sfondo satirico e riguardano argomenti come la politica, la cultura e l' etica . Sono note anche le sue attività di attivista, politico e regista. Le sue opere continuano a segnare record ad ogni asta.

Mostly known for his stencil and installation work, Banksy turned his attention to his native London's bills.
In 2004, the artist printed one million pounds worth of his Di Faced Tenner. The play on the term "defaced" (di-faced) comes from the fact that Banksy substituted the Queen's face with that of Princess Diana.
The altered bill, which also features the words "Banksy of England" were dropped into a crowd at the 2004 Notting Hill Carnival and later that year, The Reading Festival.

The mat is hand-stitched using the fabric from life vests abandoned on the Mediterranean beaches. The mats were designed by the world-renowned artist, Banksy and fabricated in Greek refugee camps.

All mats have a Gross Domestic Product official label attached, but the mat is not eligible for a certificate of authentication.
